Mario and Cappy Meet Jumpman

Ever since Super Mario Odyssey's announcement earlier this year, I've been meaning to draw a picture of Mario with his new companion, Cappy. And since today marks Mario's birthday (according to an old Nintendo Power issue), I had the perfect idea, which hearkens back to the picture I did for the series' 30th Anniversary. I think the use of Mario's 1981 design (which I based off of how he was drawn on the Donkey Kong arcade fliers, with a bit of The Saturday Supercade thrown in; I even actually considered having him carrying his gorilla-catching net here!) fits better here, though, especially with Mario's 1980s outfit being one of the many costumes he can wear in Odyssey.
